Like most guitar players, I began as a teenager strumming along to my favorite tunes over 20 years ago. I also had a handyman father who would get me interested in tools, working with my hands and woodworking. I had no idea it would come full circle.
After college and a stint as a publicist for Chicago's Alligator Records and Chicago-area P.R. firm, I decided to change careers and learn the lutherie trade.
I attended Brian Galloup’s School of Lutherie in Big Rapids, MI where I was given the beginning knowledge of how to build stringed instruments.
After some refining at the First Act Custom Shop where I worked on guitars for bands such as Mastodon, Baroness, System of a Down, High on Fire, Converge, Blood for Blood, Kylesa and many others, I decided it was time to focus on my line of guitars and basses.
Moncada Guitars are classic, retro-vintage looking guitars made with quality parts and materials, excellent tone and playability.
Repair, Customizing and Building
I am available to work on your electric and acoustic instruments. Maintenance and repair services include: set-ups and restrings, fret work, electronic and wiring repair, neck resets, structural and cosmetic fixes, finish repair, refinishing and restoration. I will customize your guitar for you or build you the guitar you want. All work done to the highest standards and at reasonable prices. Servicing Greater Lowell.
